Friends, Romans, Countrymen…
Lend me your eyes.
I am thrilled to officially announce AgileDotNet 2008, a conference co-hosted by Improving Enterprises (my employer) and Microsoft focusing on agile and lean practices with the .NET framework. The conference will have three seperate tracks (Development, Business Analysis/Project Management, Requirements/Quality Assurance) with four intense breakout sessions a piece, allowing you to pick and choose based on your job role or interest. All of the speakers, as of right now, are Improving Enterprises’ consultants.
I will be presenting “Making a Mockery of your Unit Tests”, a primer to type mocking that will include a live demonstration using the latest version of Rhino Mocks. Be sure to catch Jef Newsom’s entertaining “Always Improving” opening keynote and Chris Tullier’s in-depth look at Continuous Integration. There are a lot of interesting talks lined up, but those are my favorites so far.
If you’re still not convinced that you need to go right now and sign-up for this event (by clicking here), then I guess I’ll have to resort to reverse psychology. Did you sign up? No? Alright, here we go. Prepare to have your spirits crushed.
You don’t need to attend this event. No, no, no, you and your team are perfectly happy with your broken tests, nonsensical requirements and unrealistic timelines. That’s how you’ve been doing it for years, why fix it now? No, you’d much rather drown in your own waterfall project and I totally get that. Fortunately you won’t have to worry about drowing in your project for long, because eventually your company will replace you with someone who did attend the conference.
Alright, enough of that, go sign up @ www.agiledotnet.com.
